Matt

Founder & Managing Director

I started Search Ventures 9 years ago and still run it as a one-man operation. Some projects worked, some flopped spectacularly. All of them taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.

Right now we’re in rebuild mode: ship practical things, keep standards high, and if a project genuinely helps people, it stays. If it finds financial gain along the way, brilliant. If not, I’ve built some cool things and learned a lot doing it.

The Graveyard

Honestly, there are far too many to list here. Over 9 years of building things solo, dozens of projects have been launched, tested, sold, or quietly retired. Some ran out of steam, some were ahead of their time, some were just plain bad ideas.

Special Thanks

To Chris Chedgzoy, who mentored me and taught me how to code 9 years ago. A veteran developer with over 45 years of experience who took the time to help a beginner. I wouldn’t be doing any of this without him.

To SEOChat.com (now defunct), the original SEO forum that gave me the love and knowledge I have for SEO today. That community shaped how I think about search, and I owe it more than I can say.
